*A technique/foundations, ballet, or jazz class is highly recommended.
Acro (short for acrobatics) is a combination of both dance and gymnastics technique, creating smooth and fluid transitions between dance and acro skills. Acro is differs from a gymnastics floor routine with more dance technique, and each movement is carefully connected to the next. Skills such as headstands, elbow stands, cartwheels and walkovers are learned in the beginning, with students also focusing on tricks with partners and groups. As students become more advanced, they also work up to skills such as aerials and handsprings. Acro focuses on increasing strength, flexibility, and creating fluid dance pieces.
Class consists of warm up, stretching and strengthening exercises, conditioning, across the floor dance moves, circuits, acro stands, and across the floor skills, as well as combinations and choreography.
